The stripe of lighter hardwood where the sun lands every afternoon. The rug two shades paler at one end. The art you moved off the wall. UV is the main cause. Film on the glass blocks up to 99% of UV, and the room looks the same as before.
Sun-bleached floor. Not anymore.
UV is the part of sunlight you cannot see. It breaks down the dyes and finishes in wood, fabric, leather, paper and paint. Our films carry a UV-absorbing layer, so glass with film on it passes almost none. Every solar and privacy film on our rate card blocks up to 99% of UV, whatever shade you choose. Fading slows a great deal but does not stop completely, and anything already faded stays faded. What it costs has worked examples.
UV is most of the story. Not all of it.
Heat and visible light fade things too, more slowly. A room in punishing direct sun gets more protection from a light solar film, because it also cuts heat and glare. That is the heat and glare film page. If the only goal is protecting what is inside and the window must look untouched, choose from the near-clear options below.

- Pristine Ceramic 70 and 80. $16 per sq ft. The lightest-looking films we install. Non-metal ceramic, no mirror look. Not a security film.
- Ultra View. $11 per sq ft. Neutral film in four shades, the lower-priced light look.
- Cool Alloy 60. $12 per sq ft. Light neutral shade with some heat control.
- Pristine Ceramic 30, 40 and 50. $15 per sq ft. For a south or west room that also needs heat and glare control.

Near-invisible. Goes on almost any window.
Once installed, the near-clear shades are hard to spot. No color cast, no darkening, no change to the view. The pick for street-facing rooms, formal rooms and any window with a view. The one condition is the glass check: clear-looking film still changes how the pane handles heat.
Skylights, sliding doors and problem panes.
Skylights and south-facing sliding doors are the usual fade culprits. Film goes on glass skylights, not plastic or acrylic domes. Skylights are often tempered or laminated, so the chart matters, and some want an exterior film at $18 per sq ft plus $2 per lineal ft edge sealing. South and west rooms at Denver's altitude.
Denver sits a mile up. Thinner air means stronger UV on your glass than at sea level. South windows get sun most of the day; west windows get it late and hard. Rooms that need it most:
- Living and dining rooms with hardwood near a patio door.
- Bedrooms and nurseries with a south or west window.
- Home offices with books, photos or art on the walls.
- Any room where a rug or sofa sits in the sun path.

We check your glass before we pick a film.
We check your glass against the manufacturer's chart of 972 film-and-glass combinations before we recommend anything. The limits:
- Single pane under 100 sq ft. Dual pane under 40 sq ft. Triple pane treated as dual.
- Clear glass under 3/8 in thick.
- Odd-shaped windows over 25 sq ft and uneven exterior shading void the warranty.
- No film on cracked, chipped, fogged or wired glass.
If a film is not safe on your glass, we say so and recommend something that is. Check your glass.
